November Students of the Month
November Teacher of the Month
Each month VOL will be recognizing a teacher and share how they positively impact our school and students.
This month we would like to recognize High School/Middle School Algebra 1 teacher Mr. Haigh. He is very empathetic, responsive, and flexible. He communicates well with his students and families and is extremely friendly and his students love him. Enjoy getting to know Mr. Haigh… I am new to VOL this year. The transition has been a little crazy, as it has been for many of you! It is starting to smooth out for me though, and I think it is for most students too 😊 I think that math can sometimes be a challenging subject but if we take our time and analyze our errors we can learn from them and get better! Practice makes proficient-We will never be perfect. Never give up, and never surrender!! In the wise word of Yoda-“do or do not…there is no try…” I have Business degrees from UCF (Go Knights!!) and went to school at DSC for the teaching credits I needed so I can get a Professional Teaching Certificate. I have been in education now since 2011 and am loving every minute of it! I am married, have 4 children (youngest is 24), 3 dogs, and now have 4 grandchildren. I like to think I am a young and pretty cool grandpa 😊 I am a big Star Wars fan (and really anything Sci Fi), and I love hot rods and Harleys. I drive a souped-up Super Sport Camaro and ride a big full dresser Harley Davidson 😊My picture is of me on the deck of a cruise ship-I love cruising! I am wearing one of my coolest hats. I was called the “man of many hats” at my last school which was Hinson Middle School. Written by: Dylan Simpson |
